Nigerian Army College of Nursing (NACON) Yaba-Lagos Begins Admission for 2025/2026 Academic Session
The Nigerian Army has officially opened the application portal for admission into the Nigerian Army College of Nursing (NACON), Yaba-Lagos, for the 2025/2026 academic session. According to a statement signed by the Acting Registrar, Lt. Col. R.O. Duoboye, the admission process will commence on Monday, June 23, 2025.
Admission is open to military personnel, paramilitary personnel, and civilians, providing an inclusive opportunity for qualified Nigerians to pursue a career in the healthcare sector.
Interested candidates can apply for either the National Diploma/Higher National Diploma (ND/HND) in Nursing or the Community Nursing Programme.
“This is a valuable opportunity for young Nigerians passionate about making a difference in the health sector,” said Lt. Col. Duoboye.
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission, applicants must:
- Be Nigerian by birth.
- Be between 18 and 25 years old by October 2025.
- Possess a minimum of five (5) credits in O-Level subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, in no more than two sittings. Acceptable examination bodies include WASSCE, NECO, and GCE.
- Have participated in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
UTME Score Requirements:
- A minimum UTME score of 160 is required for ND/HND Nursing.
- A score of 130 is acceptable for Community Nursing.
Programme Duration
- ND/HND in Nursing: 4 years
- Community Nursing Programme: 2 years
Application Timeline and Procedure
The application window is open from June 23 to August 7, 2025. All applicants are required to upload the following documents:
- O-Level result(s)
- School testimonial
- Birth certificate
- Certificate of origin
- 2025 UTME result
- Recent passport-sized photograph
Screening Exercise
The entrance examination and screening exercise will be conducted from August 18 to August 21, 2025, at the NACON Complex, Yaba-Lagos. Candidates must strictly adhere to their scheduled screening dates and times, as lateness or absence may lead to disqualification.
