The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced a massive nationwide recruitment exercise for over 30,000 positions across four key paramilitary agencies. This is being coordinated through the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).

The recruitment spans across:

  • Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)
  • Federal Fire Service (FFS)
  • Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)
  • Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS)

This exercise aims to strengthen the country’s internal security framework and emergency response systems by bringing in new, capable personnel from across Nigeria.

Overview of the CDCFIB Recruitment

Objective: To strengthen the internal security framework and improve emergency response capacity through the recruitment of physically fit, mentally sound, and professionally qualified Nigerians.

Agencies & Number of Slots:

  • 🇳🇬 Immigration (NIS): 10,000 personnel
  • 🔥 Federal Fire Service (FFS): 10,000 personnel
  • 🧑‍⚖️ Correctional Service (NCoS): 5,150 personnel
  • 🛡️ Civil Defence (NSCDC): 5,000 personnel

Total Vacancies: 30,150

 

Available Positions

 

There are three major cadres under which the positions are grouped:

1. Superintendent Cadre

These are senior roles for university graduates and professionals. Applicants must possess at least a first degree or equivalent from recognized institutions. Some positions in this category require specific fields such as medicine, engineering, or law.

Examples include:

  • Superintendent of Corrections (MBBS required) — exclusive to the Nigerian Correctional Service.
  • Assistant Superintendent I — applicable to Federal Fire Service for those with law or engineering degrees.
  • Assistant Superintendent II — open to all four agencies for those with a degree or HND in any discipline.

2. Inspectorate Cadre

This is a mid-level category for those with diploma-level qualifications or professional certifications. There are two roles under this cadre:

  • Inspector: Only available in NCoS, FFS, and NSCDC, and reserved for registered nurses and midwives.
  • Assistant Inspector: Available across all four agencies. Applicants must have a National Diploma (ND) or NCE in relevant disciplines from recognized institutions.

3. Assistant Cadre

This cadre is for support staff and general duty roles. It is subdivided into two:

  • Assistant II (General Duty): Requires a minimum of five credits in SSCE/NECO/GCE, including English and Mathematics, obtained in no more than two sittings.
  • Assistant III (Artisans, Drivers, Mechanics): Requires at least four O’Level credits plus relevant Trade Test Certificates (e.g., Motor Driver Mechanics, Auto Electricians).

This category is most suited for school leavers and skilled workers with trade certification.

General Requirements

To qualify for any position in this recruitment exercise, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a Nigerian citizen by birth.
  • Possess the required educational qualifications for the role applied for.
  • Be between 18 and 35 years of age.
  • Be physically and mentally fit, with a medical certificate from a recognized government hospital.
  • Be of good character, with no criminal record or financial embarrassment.
  • Meet the minimum height requirement of 1.65 meters for males and 1.60 meters for females.
  • For male applicants, chest measurement must not be less than 0.87 meters.
  • Computer literacy is considered an added advantage.

Applicants are strictly advised to apply for only one position in one agency. Multiple applications will lead to automatic disqualification.
