8th Call: Doucet Scholarship Call 2026

In order to facilitate access to the collection for young researchers from outside Frankfurt, especially from Latin America, who are interested in using this important collection, the Max Planck Institute for Legal History and Legal Theory provides an annual scholarship for a three-month research stay at the Institute.

The eighth call for applications for the “Doucet Scholarship” is open and the deadline for sending applications for a stay from January to March 2025 (05.01.–31.03.2026) is 15 September 2025.

Eligibility Criterias for the Doucet Scholarship Call 2026

  • Candidates from all countries are eligible.
  • You should be a young researcher residing outside of Frankfurt, with a strong preference for candidates from Latin America.
  • Your proposal must center on the history of colonial law and clearly state your intention to utilize the Doucet Collection.
  • Application materials must be submitted in either English or Spanish.
