The management of Modibbo Adama University, Yola, has officially announced massive recruitment for academic and non-academic staff positions.
In a public notice titled “Vacancy Advertisement,” the university confirmed it is currently accepting online applications from qualified individuals into several faculties and departments.
“This is an opportunity for talented Nigerians to be part of a growing academic community,” the statement reads.
Interested applicants can now apply for six different ranks under the academic staff category. These include Assistant Lecturer (CONUASS 2), Lecturer II (CONUASS 3), Lecturer I (CONUASS 4), Senior Lecturer (CONUASS 5), Associate Professor (CONUASS 6), and Professor (CONUASS 7).
To qualify as an Assistant Lecturer, candidates must hold a Master’s degree with at least a 3.50 CGPA on a 5.0 scale. Fields such as Accountancy (with ACCA/ACA), Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Law (LLB + BL), Pharmacy (B.Pharm), Engineering (B.Eng + COREN), and others are accepted.
For higher positions like Lecturer II and Lecturer I, candidates must hold a Ph.D., or have a Master’s degree with years of teaching and research experience plus multiple academic publications. “Publications must be traceable and in circulation,” the university emphasized.
Applicants from the industry sector with at least 8 years of relevant experience and a strong academic background can also apply for positions like Lecturer I.
The roles of Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor, and Professor come with higher requirements. Applicants need a Ph.D., several years of relevant experience in a recognised university, and between 6 to 18 academic publications.
The statement clearly noted, “Only publications in recognised universities or equivalent institutions will be considered.”
Modibbo Adama University is recruiting across multiple faculties. These include:
- Agriculture (Crop Production, Food Science)
- Arts (English, Linguistics)
- Communication and Media Studies (Mass Communication, Journalism)
- Computing (Cyber Security, Data Science)
- Education, Engineering, Environmental Science, Law, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, and Social and Management Sciences (Banking, Accountancy, Political Science).
The university also invites applications for Laboratory Technologists in both medical and science categories.
The required qualifications include HND, B.Sc., or B.Tech in Science Laboratory Technology, plus NYSC discharge certificate.
